:: A Note about Natural Dyes ::
The safest of ingredients goes into dyeing my Naturally Dyed Yarns. The
natural dyes used are all derived from nature. In fact, many come
straight from my garden.
Only dyes found to be good to excellent for light and wash fastness have
been used. Please keep in mind that all yarns should be stored out of
direct light and that includes yarns dyed with natural dyes. For best
color retention yarns should be washed by hand with a gentle cleanser
such as Eucalan.
Also please keep in mind that these yarns are dyed by hand and some
variations in color may occur. However, many people find this only adds
to the beauty and uniqueness of the yarn.
No batch of yarn dyed with natural dyes comes out the same twice.
Conditions such as weather and time of year can all affect the color
received from the plant material being used. This truly enhances the one
of a kind uniqueness each skein of yarn has to offer.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions on yarns dyed with plant dyes.
Please also refer to my About page for more information on the uniqueness of naturally dyed yarns and fibers.
